Ehiwarior Hosts Town Hall, Showcases One Year Scorecard

IN a bid to foster transparency, accountability, and people-centred governance, the Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area, Engr Jerry Ehiwarior, has hosted a successful three-day town hall meeting at the Ika National Hall, Agbor.

The meeting, which saw active participation from various groups, including the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Landlords’ Association, civil society groups, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ika Students, non-indigenes, Agbor Community Union, Abavo Community Union, Onu-Ika, and others.

Ehiwarior presented his administration’s one-year scorecard to the invited groups, highlighting achievements, challenges, and plans for Ika South. The scorecard underscored his administration’s focus on infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, and community relations. Each group was engaged directly, with tailored presentations and discussions on issues specific to their interests and concerns.

The town hall meeting provided a platform for residents to hold their leaders accountable and for Ehiwarior to demonstrate his commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents. His open-door policy was on full display as he listened attentively to concerns, providing solutions and assurances where possible.

This approach, residents noted, has earned him praise for his dedication to transparency and accountability.

As the event drew to a close, Hon Ehiwarior reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Ika South with diligence and integrity. He urged the community to continue providing feedback and suggestions, assuring them that their input would be invaluable in shaping the future of the local government area.
