EDHA Approves N100bn Loan Facility For Gov Okpebholo

EDO State House of Assembly yesterday approved the sum of N100 billion loan to Governor Monday Okpebholo for infrastructural development in the state.

The house decision for the approval was sequel to a letter dated June 23, 2025 and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku.

The letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor said the contractual loan facility would be sourced from First Bank Plc.

The letter was titled: “Request for Legislative Approval of the sum of N100 billion from the First Bank of Nigeria Plc for the operation of contractors finance facility for the development of various infrastructural projects in Edo state”.

At the committee of whole lawmakers, who spoke in full support of the loan facility, were unanimous in their separate submission that the N100billin loan request will finance the completion of all ongoing projects in the state.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon .Blessing Agbebaku , following the deliberations by members on the loan facility, thereafter directed the clerk of the house Mr. Yahaya Omognai to forward clean copies of the resolution approving the request for a loan facility of N100 billion naira to the Governor for immediate action.

Also during plenary, the house passed the bill for a law to establish St. Mathew Royal College of Nursing Science Edenu-Irrua.
