APPARENTLY pleased with the ongoing development strides within the Asaba capital of the State, members of the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) have lauded the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) for upholding the vision of the state government in establishing the Agency.
The Chairman, Assembly Committee on Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Benson Obire gave the commendation, yesterday, when the Director-general of the Agency, Mr. Patrick Ukah appeared before the committee to defend the Agency’s 2026 Budget proposal.
While urging the leadership of the Agency to sustain the tempo of infrastructural development within the DSCTDA, Hon Obire noted that the Agency has, within the past few years, reactivated the “Glory ‘ of the State capital by making it clean, green and safe.
He commended the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for making sure that the MORE Agenda vision of his administration was loudly visible within the State capital, just as he noted that the current leadership of the agency had also keyed into the Governor’s vision by upholding the tempo of infrastructural development in the area.
“During our oversight visit to some of the ongoing projects by your Agency, we discovered that the projects were properly done.
“So, I want to use this medium to thank the DG of the Agency and, more importantly, the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for not only appointing you to head the Agency, but for making you perform excellently well. Thank you very much for doing the State proud” Hon. Obire said.
Presenting the Agency’s 2026 Budget proposal, the DG noted that in the outgoing fiscal year, the agency recorded recorded an overall capital budget performance of over 87 per cent as at June, 2025. While proposing a revenue generation in excess of N13m in the 2026 fiscal year, the DG noted that in the outgoing year, the Agency as at June this year, generated over N4.4m as against the N1.6m generated in 2024.
