THE Delta State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has announced plans to pay an official condolence visit to the family of its late state patron and Chairman, Delta Central Elders Forum, Chief Wilfred Ovuorayevbie.
The visit, scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2026, is part of efforts by the youth council to honour the memory and legacy of the late patron who played a significant role in mentoring and supporting youth leadership in the state.
According to a statement issued by the NYCN ,Delta State Chairman, Comrade Milton Sagboje, the delegation will depart from Ekiugbo Junction by the Express in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Sagboje called on past State Chairmen of the council, leaders, Heads of Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYOs), members of the State Executive Council, Local Government Area Chairmen and other key stakeholders to make themselves available to join the delegation.
He further urged Vice-Chairmen from each senatorial district to circulate the information to leaders and stakeholders within their respective zones to ensure broad participation.
He noted that the visit is intended to demonstrate solidarity with the bereaved family and to pay tribute to the late Ovuorayevbie, whom he described as a father figure, mentor and pillar of the council.
The chairman had earlier described the late patron as a passionate stakeholder in the NYCN who dedicated enormous efforts towards strengthening unity within the council, particularly in Delta Central Senatorial District.
He said the deceased played a pivotal role in mobilizing and uniting stakeholders across the district to ensure a coordinated and unified participation during the last NYCN Delta State Congress held in September 2025.
