Traditional rulers in Delta State have hailed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his emergence as the best Governor in the South South in terms of performance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.
In a five-point Communique issued at the end of their monthly meeting in Asaba, the Monarchs hailed the Governor for his excellent performance in the provision of quality infrastructure and over all development across the length and breadth of Delta State
“From the development strides of the present administration, the Governor had raised the bar in the provision of infrastructure,promotion of ethnic harmony , peace and growth of the state.”
In the Communique presented by the Chairman of the Council and Orodje of Okpe, Major General Felix Mujakpuero, (Rtd) Orhue 1, the Delta Monarchs also congratulated Governor Oborevwori, teachers and parents of Delta-born children of public schools who won laurels recently in far away Doha, in the United Arab Emirates, saying that the children had brought great honour not only to their parents and the state but to the country at large.
The Delta royal fathers also appreciated Governor Oborevwori for increasing the monthly stipends of widows in the state from ten thousand to fifteen thousand naira and approval of free medical services to them.
According to the monarchs, “Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is progressively achieving great results in all spheres of life and we are proud of him”.
“As Royal Fathers we will continue to pray for him to do more, work more , listen more and achieve more in line with his MORE agenda for the greater good of all Deltans”.
The traditional rulers prayed for the Governor and the sustainance of Unity, growth , ethnic harmony and continued peaceful co – existence among all Deltans.
The traditional rulers received in audience the Delta State Commander of the National Drug law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Commander Halilu Hamidu ( PHD ), who solicited for the support of the Monarchs in the fight against hard drugs and illicit drug trafficking in the State.
The meeting was attended by by traditional rulers from across Delta State including the 1st vice Chairman of the Council and Pere of Akugbene Mien, SP Luke Kalanama V111 and the 2nd Vice Chairman and Obi of Ubulu Unor , Agbogidi Henry Kikachukwu 1 ( PHD) among others.
