IN her characteristic display of gratitude, compassion, and purposeful leadership, the wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, yesterday, celebrated her 56th birth anniversary with orphans, widows, persons living with disabilities, and the elderly across the three senatorial districts of the State.
The celebration for senior citizens was held in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, while similar events took place simultaneously in Bomadi, Isiokolo, Sapele and Issele-Uku, where the Governor’s wife was represented.
The gesture further underscored her enduring commitment to humanitarian service and her resolve to continually care for the most vulnerable members of society.
Deaconess Oborevwori, who was received in a colourful ceremony at the venue expressed profound gratitude to God for the gift of life, good health, and sound mind.
She described her 56th birthday as a testimony of divine faithfulness and grace. She explained that the celebration was in fulfilment of a personal vow made in 2024 to always mark her birthday in the company of senior citizens, whom she described as the pillars of families and communities.
While commending the Isoko North Council Chairman for hosting the event, the Governor’s wife lauded the elderly for their resilience, wisdom, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Delta State, and reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to their welfare and wellbeing.
She also appealed to the elders to continually pray for the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the State, stressing that the prayers of elders play a critical role in sustaining peace, progress, and the equitable spread of democratic dividends across the state.
In goodwill messages, the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. Godwin Ogorugba, former Secretary to the State Government, Comrade Marculey Ovouzuorie, and the wife of the Ozoro monarch, HRM Ofejiro Ugbogbo, described the Governor’s wife as a true daughter of the Isoko Nation, whose life of service has strengthened the bond between leadership and the grassroots, while praying for renewed strength for her continued humanitarian works.
The celebration, which attracted government functionaries, women from Isoko North and South Local Government Areas, featured the presentation of essential items, including foodstuffs, clothing, and toiletries, to the elderly.
In a related development, Women on Mission, wives of members of the 7th and 8th Delta State House of Assembly paid a surprise visit to the Governor’s wife, during which a birthday cake was presented in her honour.
The highlight of the celebration was the cutting of the birthday cake and the presentation of gifts to the Governor’s wife.
