Delta State First Lady and Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has continued her advocacy for healthy living and community wellness through the “You Matter Walk4Life” fitness initiative, held yesterday in Asaba.
Themed “10,000 Steps for Life,” the event brought together hundreds of participants from different walks of life, including government officials, youth groups, and fitness enthusiasts, who joined the First Lady on a morning walk around the capital city.
The walk commenced from the Interbau roundabout and climaxed at the Office of the First Lady within the Government House, Asaba.
Addressing participants at the end of the exercise, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori expressed heartfelt appreciation to everyone who turned out for the event.
She emphasised that physical fitness is essential for a healthy and productive society, even as she encouraged Deltans to adopt regular exercise as part of their daily routine, noting that “good health remains the foundation for building stronger families and communities.”
In his inspiring word of exhortation, the Chaplain of the Government House, Ven Charles Osemene, commended the First Lady for her vision and leadership.
He described the Walk4Life as not just a fitness campaign but a call to value life and wellbeing. He urged participants to “see every step as a step toward a healthier and more purposeful life.”
The You Matter Walk4Life is one of the many initiatives under the You Matter Charity Foundation (YMCF), aimed at promoting wellness, empowerment, and social impact across Delta State.
The event concluded with cheers, music, and renewed energy among participants who pledged to continue taking daily steps toward healthier living.
