The wife of Delta State Governor and Founder, You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has promised collaboration with the state chapter of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria.
She stated this, yesterday, when she received on a courtesy visit, members of the association.
Dcns Oborevwori pledged her support to the group on their expressed vision to curb drug abuse, promising that through her, their voice would be better heard. In response to their request for the amendment of the Local Government Laws to make provision for the specified functions of the council vice chairmen, the First Lady promised to see that the complaints are channeled to the appropriate quarters. She admonished the group to hold on tightly to God and ensure that they bring up their children in the fear of God in order to create a peaceful environment. The First Lady also expressed her commendation to the group for supporting the MORE Agenda and also identifying with the You Matter Charity Foundation.
The leader of the delegation and Vice Chairman, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Uju Okolo, in her address, expressed their gratitude and admiration for the First Lady for her commitment to the progress of Delta State.
She went further to express her heartfelt appreciation to his Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for sustaining the policy of ensuring the position of local government vice chairmen are reserved for women and the prompt approval of official vehicles for them.
She emphasized that the group will align with the MORE agenda, particularly focusing on the eradication of drug abuse and mobilize their communities to support the governor’s vision and the You Matter Charity Foundation.
In a similar development, the wife of the Governor also received members of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Nigeria, Delta State Chapter.
The group decorated the First Lady as the state patron of the association, while she in turn assured the group led by Comrade Margaret Abugewa of her support.
