THE Assistant Parish Priest, St. Augustine Catholic Church, Akwuofor, Asaba, Rev. Fr. Clement Odia, has called on Christians to pray without ceasing and to be vigilant. He said that being in the new liturgical season (Advent) ,preparatory to Christmas, it is a reminder of the second coming of Jesus Christ.
He spoke during the zonal mass held at St. Faustina zone, Akwuofor, Asaba, urging Catholics to always have faith and listen to God, reminding them that all things are possible with God.
He explained that the season is a period of giving, showing love to others and caring for all.
Coordinator of the zone, Mrs. Christiana Okonwor, explained that the event was to showcase the good relationship between the clergy and the faithful.
“It is a period where the priest visits his members living in a small community, celebrates the Holy Mass, and prays with them.
The initiative was to bring together members of the parish living in a particular area and to promote the growth of the parish,” she said.
Speaking, the Laity Council Chairman, Mr. Henry Chukwuma, affirmed that the Zonal Mass was for the growth of the parish and to mark the end of the year, adding that the priest will visit other zones in the parish.
