THE Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Environment, Chief Matthew Opuoru, has assured residents of a cleaner environment in Delta State.
Opuoru, who was the immediate past member representing Warri South Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, gave the assurance in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent during the ongoing cleaning of canals in Warri.
He noted that a clean environment would boost the health of Deltans.
“Health is wealth. That is why a clean environment is foremost in the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
“He (Governor Oborevwori) will leave no stone unturned in ensuring a clean environment in Delta State,” he added.
Opuoru, however, urged Deltans to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by keeping their surroundings clean at all times.
To this end, he strongly cautioned against indiscriminate dumping of refuse, warning that offenders would face the full wrath of the law.
The Special Adviser further stated that Governor Oborevwori has zero tolerance for environmental pollution, stressing that it is injurious to health.
He therefore warned multinationals, other industrial operators, and indeed all Deltans to guard against environmental pollution in the state.
