Charles Burr Primary School, Agbor Old Boys Celebrate 2025 Graduating Class

IN a heart-warming celebration of tradition, excellence, and commu­nity spirit, the Old Boys Association of Charles Burr Primary School, Agbor, has honoured the school’s 2025 gradu­ating pupils in a grand ceremony held recently, at the school grounds.

The ceremony featured a vibrant mix of performances including traditional dances, Bible recitations, and a special news casting segment delivered in the indigenous Agbor dialect. These showcased the school’s strong cultural heritage and its holistic approach to education, blending academics with identity and tradition.

Representing the Chairman of the Old Boys Association, Comrade Alex Agidi, Vice Chairman, Comrade Sun­day Fredrick, who led a delegation of alumni to the event, emphasized the association’s dedication to the school’s progress:

“The future of Agbor and Delta State rests on the shoulders of these young minds. We must nurture them with care, knowledge, and love.”

.Speaking at the event, Secretary, Lo­cal Government Education Authority, Chima Anyia, commended the school’s leadership for their commitment to educational excellence. He also ac­knowledged Mr. Benjamin Agbogwu, son of the late headmistress, Mrs. Grace Agbogwu, for maintaining his family’s legacy of service to the school.

Anyia praised the current school administrator, Ezinne Joy IIechie, not­ing that “Under her leadership, we’ve seen a marked improvement in staff performance, pupil engagement, and the school’s overall direction. She’s a beacon in our education system.”

Parents and other guests expressed gratitude to the Old Boys Association for their support and shared fond memories of their own time at Charles Burr, expressing hopes of seeing it be­come a model institution in the state.

In a touching moment, Master Abraham Blessing delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the graduating class, expressing deep appreciation to the Old Boys, teachers, and families.

“This scholarship means everything to me. I’ll work harder and strive to become someone my school and com­munity will be proud of.”

A key highlight of the day was the presentation of academic scholar­ships to the best graduating male and female pupils, Master Abraham Blessing and Miss Osunde Marvelous. The scholarships recognized their outstanding academic achievements and exemplary conduct.

The alumni delegation included Eboka Ndidi Emmanuel (Secretary), George Obuh (PRO), Emeke Ogbekeli, Jude Eghebi, Ewere Jude, Aluka, God­win Andrew, and Alex Ayidu, whose presence symbolized unity and a shared commitment to giving back.
