Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the sum of N82 million as financial assistance for Nigerian Law School students of Delta State origin for the 2023/2024 academic session.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, Dr. Godfrey Enita.
According to the statement, “His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has graciously approved the sum of N82 million as financial assistance to students of Delta State origin in the seven Nigerian Law Schools across the country.”
A total of 759 students will benefit from the Law School Financial Assistance Scheme in the current academic year.
The initiative, the statement added, is part of the state government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on students during their time at Law School.
This approval comes shortly after the governor sanctioned the release of N713 million for the State Government’s Bursary Scheme, benefiting 32,028 students in public and private tertiary institutions nationwide for the same academic session.
The latest gesture underscores the Governor Oborevwori administration’s ongoing dedication to the welfare of Delta students in higher institutions and aligns with its broader strategy to build a generation of educated, vibrant, and purpose-driven young people who will contribute meaningfully to the state’s economic growth and development.
