THE Principal of St. Brigid’s Girls Grammar School, Asaba, Rev. Sis. Cordelia Osita, has urged the graduating class of 2025 to become bearers of light in a world that needs more than just perfection. Speaking during the school’s graduation ceremony, she emphasized the symbolic importance of light as hope in various cultures.
“The world does not only need perfection, it needs light,” Sis. Osita declared. She encouraged the graduates to shine brightly, uplifting others through focus, self-belief, and the courage to begin rather than waiting for tomorrow and praised the school’s Proprietor, Most Rev. (Dr.) Michael Elue, for his unwavering support, as well as the parents and guardians for their dedication.
Sister Osita also commended the teachers for their significant contributions. “You have not only taught lessons; you have ignited a fire that will keep burning. You’ve helped raise well-rounded individuals, not just scholars,” she stated. She described each challenge and lesson as a stepping-stone to future success, expressing optimism about the new journey ahead for the graduating class.
In a goodwill message, Ogbueshi Isitua Francis prayed for the outgoing students and encouraged them to remain confident and focused. “Education is only the beginning. Don’t be afraid to aim high,” he said. He also applauded the teachers for shaping not only academic minds but also instilling confidence and values that will serve the students well into the future. The outgoing Head Girl, Miss Bernice Oseke, expressed deep gratitude to God for sustaining their class through six years without any loss. She lauded Sister Cordelia’s leadership; likening it to a lighthouse that guided their journey not just academically but in character development. Miss Oseke urged the incoming prefects to dream boldly and understand that success is born not just from brilliance but also from perseverance, kindness, and integrity. She encouraged them to build on the foundation laid by their predecessors and to cherish the moments they have left in school.
