LIFE-ND Undertakes Inspection Of Incubatees-Turned Incubators’ Projects

As a deliberate effort to confirm, and consolidate on the goal of sustaining it’s nutrition mainstreaming and promote a safer and improved farming technique for farmers, the Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises, Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) Project in Delta State, has embarked on an on-the-spot inspection of projects floated by some of it’s incubatees-turned incubators.

The inspection team, led by the Knowledge Management and Communication Officer, Mr. Damian Omare, were at a Poultry Farm at Emuhu Community in Ika South Local Government Area, owned by Mr. Michael Stanley – a LIFE-ND incubatee – turned incubator.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Micheal Stanley said, “I’m a Polytechnic graduate of Mass Communication, and an incubatee under the LIFE-ND Project. Today, I am in partnership with a friend to own this Poultry with a capacity of 1,500 birds”.

He said, the Poultry had done many circles of Broilers production-from day-old cheeks to table size.

Commending the LIFE-ND Project for it’s post-training assistance to the Poultry he said, ” when we had challenges of completing the Poultry house and feeding, LIFE-ND Project came to our rescue to ensure that we remained in business”.

At Agbor, also in Ika South Local Government Area of the State, where the LIFE-ND Project built three large Green Houses with a Solar- Powered Water Borehole for the production of Habernbero and Bell pepper, with no less than 24 incubatees on ground for training, Mr. Damian Omare disclosed that the project was part of the additional financing for the second phase of the LIFE-ND Project.

The project, he added was part of LIFE-ND Project, aimed at supporting women and families to improve on their vegetable production, and earn more income.

“Most of the incubatees already have their vegetable farms here, and their training on the production of Habernbero and Bell pepper, that are more marketable would assist in boosting their financial base”, Mr. Omare added.

In her response, a beneficiary of the LIFE-ND Project and an incubatee/ vegetable farmer, Miss. Osagie Eyinome commended the initiative of the LIFE-ND Project to build the Green House, adding, “This new farm technology will help to boost our technique for vegetable production, and enhance our farm technique, particularly in Habernbero and Bell pepper oroduction.”
