Asagba Seeks Solar Street Lights For Asaba

The Asagba of Asaba, Prof Epiphany Azinge, has called for 2,000 solar street lights to light up Asaba.

He made the request when he received in the audience the Executive Director, Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and Rural Electrification Funds (REF), Rt.  Hon. (Engr.) Doris Uboh in his Abuja Residence.

‎His Royal Majesty warmly welcomed Engr. Uboh for the visit and officially congratulated the Ika-born politician and former member of the House of Representative, Ika Federal Constituency for her appointment as the Executive Director, Rural Electrification Agency and Rural Electrification funds, describing her appointment as a round peg in a round hole.

‎“‎I can attest to the fact that you have given a lot of hope to me and by extension the people of Asaba. You have reacted positively to my request for 2,000 solar street light which you just reaffirm your commitment to help the community benefit through the instrumentality of your office”, he observed,  explaining that its economic and security benefits to Asaba will never be forgotten in a hurry.

The Monarch described the gesture as one that would bring transformation to the Asaba kingdom, and further appreciated the Ika-born politician for always giving him a listening ear any time the need arises, emphasizing that he will continue to remain proud of her as a true daughter of Anioma nation.

‎Earlier, Engr. Uboh thanked HRM Asagba Azinge, and the palace chiefs for the warm reception accorded her. She described Asaba as a blessed Community to have a monarch of such pedigree as their King, explaining that the kingdom will experience tremendous changes under his leadership.

‎Engr Uboh explained that under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, with the support of the state Governors, Nigerians will benefit from improved electrification accessibility, and assured the monarch and Asaba community of delivering to their requests in the shortest possible time.

The highlights of the visit were the presentation of gifts from Asaba Community to Engr. Doris Uboh as a wonderful gesture of love and respect for the kingdom.
