Aniagwu, Asaba Monarch, Others Honoured For Service To Humanity

Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Hon Charles Aniagwu, alongside other prominent Deltans have been honoured for their impact on society.

Hon  Aniagwu bagged the distinguished Honourable Award from the Chybee African Festival of Culture and Fashion in Asaba, Delta State Capital, yesterday.

Other awardees include the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi (Prof) Epiphany Azinge, HRM Obi Henry Afamefuna and the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Darlington Ijeh,  and a former state chairman of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Barr. StellaMaris Mejulu, among others.

Addressing newsmen on the sidelines, Mr Aniagwu applauded the foundation for promoting the rich African culture, saying, ‘’I wholeheartedly appreciate Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women for not just extending awards to deserving individuals but helping to promote cultural heritage and at the same time encourage our women to be at their best in what they do.

“Often time we see individuals who want to become a little selfish with what God has given them; it could be money and talent.

But Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women has decided to be optimistic and patriotic and also help to build and promote our culture.

“What she is doing is what the government has continued to preach; that whoever is in a position to help us have a better society, that person should not hesitate to do so, because it is going to be a mistake for you to think that the government will do everything to engage everyone” he said.

Earlier, the founder of Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation For Women, Lady Chinyere Zimako, in her welcome speech extol the rich heritage, creativity and fashion on our society.

In her words “Today (yesterday), we gather to explore the profound impact of African culture and fashion on our society.

The economic benefits of African culture and fashion are undeniable.

‘’Nigeria’s fashion industry has become a significant contributor to our economy, creating jobs and opportunities for designers, artisans and entrepreneurs.

“By promoting African-inspired clothing, accessories and textiles, we are not only preserving our heritage but also boosting local businesses and attracting global interest,” she said

Highlights of the event was the fashion runway, cultural exhibition, special recognition, launching of magazine, cultural dance and grant presentation
