ADUN Matriculates 769 Students

THE Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) has matriculated 769 newly admitted students at a ceremony held at the university campus along the Ibusa–Ogwashi-Uku Expressway.

Addressing the students, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Ogbogbo, described the matriculation as the beginning of an exciting but demanding phase in their lives, urging them to reflect deeply on the purpose of university education in the 21st century.

Prof. Ogbogbo explained that modern universities are centres for the generation and dissemination of knowledge, with a strong emphasis on equipping students with problem-solving skills that would make them relevant in society.

He noted that university education goes beyond the acquisition of certificates, stressing that students are trained to apply knowledge and skills to address human and societal challenges.

According to him, the training students receive at ADUN has the potential to shape the direction and quality of their future lives, and he encouraged them to take their studies, conduct and social development seriously throughout their stay in the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor described ADUN as a fast-growing university with a rising intellectual reputation, particularly in the South-South region of the country. He disclosed that the admission of 769 students this academic session represents more than a 100 per cent increase compared to the previous year.

He added that the surge in student population had informed the university’s decision to embark on massive infrastructural development aimed at improving access and providing a conducive learning environment for the growing number of students.

Prof. Ogbogbo reassured parents and guardians that their children and wards had made the right choice by enrolling at Admiralty University of Nigeria, noting the institution’s commitment to quality education and character development, while congratulating the matriculating students and their parents on reaching a major academic milestone and expressing optimism that the new students would enjoy a stimulating and rewarding academic experience at the university.
