A stakeholder and resident of Water Resources, Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief Adulphus Adoghie, has reiterated his appeal for the resurfacing of Airport Road.
He made the appeal during a media chat with our correspondent at his residence last weekend.
The respected Edo State indigene, who plies Airport Road regularly, bitterly noted that the stretch from Airport Road Junction, Effurun, down to Warri South Local Government Area is riddled with numerous bad spots. While commending Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for resurfacing the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Road, which had a similar problem, he appealed to him to extend the gesture to Airport Road.
Adoghie stressed that Airport Road is a major route between Uvwie and Warri South Local Government Areas and is too important to be neglected in terms of rehabilitation.
He further called on the relevant authorities to restore portions of the road affected by the ongoing drainage project to their original state.
In addition, Adoghie appealed for proper traffic control arrangements to
be put in place for contractors working on the drainage projects, in order to ease the constant traffic gridlocks caused by the construction works.
Meanwhile, the ongoing drainage construction near Apala Junction, by Airport Road, has continued to impede vehicular movement, compelling vehicles coming from the Warri South axis to drive against traffic at the time of filing this report.
