FOR the first time in history, the management and staff of The Pointer newspaper came together in unity and harmony, setting aside official duties momentarily to celebrate its beloved colleagues born in January.
The celebration took place during the mid-day, as the staff of The Pointer gathered together with smiles and warm wishes to mark the heartfelt birthday celebration of their colleagues, which featured an opening prayer, praise and worship, the cutting of cake, and group photographs, creating an atmosphere of warmth and unity.
Speaking during the celebration, the Managing Director of The Pointer, Mrs Rosemary Nwaebuni described the birthday as more than a social gathering, noting that it reflected the strong bond among staff members and the welfare and happiness of its staff.
‘’This celebration is a way for all of us to relax because the work we do is very tasking, even during public holidays. We are always working, but with this celebration, we can come together as one and show the strong love we have for each other, ‘’ she said.
In a brief interview, one of the celebrants, Mr. Umukoro Tobore, expressed gratitude to the MD and his colleagues, stating that the huge gesture showed how united the staff were as the occasion further brought them closer to one another.
‘’I am very surprised because I have never in my life celebrated my birthday, and am so happy because it shows how important we are to this organisation, and I also love how we all came out together to celebrate one another,’’ he said. This historical celebration shows The Pointer management’s commitment to fostering a supportive and friendly work environment in its workplace.
