- Okorodudu Sets Agenda
As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather pace, the electoral outlook for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a timely boost yesterday.
To this end, the Executive Director of Projects on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun (Dr) Ebenezer Okorodudu, inaugurated the Hon. Sly Ovbije Political Movement for Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu at Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Performing the inauguration, Dr Okorodudu charged the executives of the movement to carry out their mandate with unity of purpose, stressing the need to bring all stakeholders together to ensure the successful delivery of Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu at the polls.
He further urged the leadership of the movement to intensify grassroots mobilisation, particularly by encouraging active participation in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Okorodudu also tasked the executives to effectively engage the electorate by highlighting the developmental strides of Governor Oborevwori, which, he said, are visible across the state, as well as the far-reaching reforms initiated by President Tinubu at the national level.
While recounting some of the achievements of the Oborevwori administration since 2023, including the construction of five flyovers, rehabilitation of numerous roads, settlement of pension arrears, youth empowerment programmes and other interventions, Okorodudu noted that a second term for the Governor would further consolidate these gains for the benefit of Deltans.
At the federal level, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain described President Tinubu’s policies are beginning to yield positive results and reposition Nigeria on the path of sustainable growth.
He stressed the need for continuity and a stronger working relationship between the federal and state governments, adding that both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori have demonstrated commendable leadership capacity at their respective levels and should be allowed to continue in office until 2031.
