Find Legitimate Income Or Leave Delta, NSCDC To Pipeline Vandals

The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intensified efforts to curb vandalism and economic sabotage across the state under the leadership of Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo.

This was contained in a statement signed by the CDPRO, Delta State Command, DSC Anthony Uchenna.

Since assuming office, Commandant Igbo’s transformative leadership has led to multiple court convictions, with more cases ongoing in various courts.

In the statement, Commandant Igbo noted, “Vandalism in Delta State must stop by all means. Those who persist in sabotaging our economic infrastructure will face the full weight of the law.”

In one of the recent operations, Paul Solomon, a 25-year-old from Benue State, was arrested on January 5, 2026, by the NSCDC Delta Pipeline Monitoring Team in Kwale. Solomon was caught vandalising two wellheads belonging to OANDO Energy Resources Nigeria Ltd. He was apprehended with tools including an acetylene cylinder, a hydrogen cylinder, and an adjustable spanner. Investigations are ongoing, and he will be charged in a competent court upon completion.

The crackdown continued on January 6, when the Nigerian Army arrested a group of suspects in Forcados, Burutu, Delta State, for vandalising AGIP pipelines. The suspects, led by 38-year-old Christian Ezekiel, were handed over to the NSCDC Delta. Among the exhibits recovered were eight vandalised AGIP pipes, each measuring eight feet, along with an acetylene cylinder. Commandant Igbo confirmed that investigations are ongoing and court action is imminent.

Reiterating his zero-tolerance policy, the Commandant warned, “Any unrepentant elements must find legal means of livelihood or leave Delta State. Those caught will face the wrath of the law.”

The Delta State Command of NSCDC continues to signal its determination to protect critical infrastructure and ensure that economic sabotage is met with swift justice.
