Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori will on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, perform the ground-breaking ceremony of Kwale Free Trade Zone.
This marks a historic moment in the state’s economic development, as the Kwale Free Trade Zone is expected to attract investments, generate employment opportunities and boost economic prosperity in Delta State.
The management of the Delta Special Economic Zone, expressed optimism that the Zone will attract both local and foreign investors, generate employment opportunities, improve local infrastructure, facilitate technology transfer and boost economic prosperity in Delta State. It said that considering the number of companies that have invested and those indicating interest, the Kwale Free Trade Zone can be considered a game changer in economic prosperity.
It commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his unwavering support and vision for industrializing the state, adding that his passion for growth and development has been instrumental to the zone.
On his part, Brig. Gen. Mike Ndubisi (Rtd), Chairman of the Board said the Kwale Free Trade Zone established two years ago alongside the Koko Free Trade Zone, has demonstrated significant promise in attracting investments and redefining the Ease of Doing Business in the Delta State.
The event will feature notable dignitaries, including Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, immediate past governor of Delta State as chairman of the event, Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta State will be the Chief Host, while Brig. Gen. Mike Ndubisi (Rtd), Board Chairman, Delta Special Economic Zone is the host.
With the forthcoming ground-breaking ceremony, the Delta Special Economic Zone said it is set to play an even more pivotal role in the state’s economic landscape, driving growth, investment and industrialization.
