THE Consultant to the Delta State Government on Education Matters, Prof. Hope Eghagha will undertake a tour of tertiary institutions in the state for a comprehensive needs assessment with a view to gaining first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities.
According to a release, the visit is aimed at assessing the learning environment, management structure and overall academic performance of the institutions in line with the government’s commitment to strengthening tertiary education in State. Prof. Eghagha is expected to submit a comprehensive report to the state government at the end of the tour, outlining his findings and recommendations for improved academic performance across Delta’s tertiary institutions.
The tour is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 7, with visits to Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba and the University of Delta, Agbor. According to the programme, Prof. Eghagha will continue the tour on Monday, November 10, with a visit to the College of Physical Education, Mosogar and Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara. It added that the consul t ant wi l l continue his tour to Maritime Polytechnic, Burutu and College of Education, Warri on Tuesday, November 11, on Wednesday, November 12, it would be the turn of Orerokpe Campus of Southern Delta University and Delta State University, Abraka, while Southern Delta University, Ozoro, and DELSU Oleh Campus will host the consultant on Thursday, November 13.
The statement stated that the tour is expected to be concluded on Friday, November 14, with a visit to Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
