GOVERNOR Sheriff Oborevwori has condoled with the Chairman, Delta State Muslim Welfare Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Auwalu Tukur on the demise of his aged mother, Hajiya Hafsatu Tukur who was aged 92.
Governor Oborevwori represented by the Commissioner Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Terry Etacherure described the late matriarch of the Tukur family as a firm and loving mother who always looked out for the good of those within and outside her community.
The Governor said that the late Hajiya Hafsatu Tukur, whose demise happened on of October 13 was key to the growth of the Muslim community in Asaba as well as a philanthropist and community development leader, who made sure that she left a positive impact on anyone that came her way.
He averred that the Delta State Government would continue to work with people of all faiths in a bid to build a virile and dynamic society.
The Chairman Muslim Welfare Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Tukur lauded the Delta State Government for the show of love saying the state government led by Governor Oborevwori does not discriminate religions stressing that the Muslim community do not see themselves as less Deltans because of the love they have enjoyed from the people.
Alhaji Tukur described his late mother as loving, caring, deeply religious, God fearing and a devout Muslim.
He said the children would continue to remember her love, teachings and legacy stressing that the vacuum she had created would be difficult to fill.
The seven days prayers for the late Hajiya Hafsatu Tukur which were held at the Cablepoint Mosque in Asaba, ended with government officials, friends, well-wishers and Muslim faithful joining in the prayers.
