Oborevwori Approves 6th Delta Strategic Communication Workshop

IN line with the human capital development policy for political appointees and media partners under the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the hosting of the 6th edition of the Delta State Strategic Communication Workshop (Delcom 2025).

A statement issued by the State Coordinator of Delcom and Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, described the governor’s approval as a demonstration of his unwavering commitment to building a highly productive workforce in the state’s media and communication sector.

The 2025 edition will be led by the Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, Prof. Joyce Ogwezi, who will serve as Chief Trainer. She will be supported by top professionals in journalism, mass communication, and information strategy management.

The workshop, expected to take place in Asaba, will sharpen the professional skills of 150 participants, including political appointees, social media influencers, online news publishers, and bloggers drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state.

Dr. Oghenesivbe disclosed that full details of Delcom 2025, including its theme, will be unveiled next week to allow participants to register for the programme.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for his continued confidence in the Bureau for Communications, noting that the annual capacity-building initiative will continue to strengthen participants’ ability to effectively propagate government policies, programmes, and achievements beyond 2027.
