Olu Of Warri Scholarship: Itsekiri Communities Get Deadline For Fresh Entries

ITSEKIRI Communities, in Warri Federal Con­stituency, Delta Cen­tral Senatorial District and Edo State have been given August 31 deadline to submit three eligible Itsekiri students, who are indigenes of their respec­tive communities, to be included in the final batch of beneficiaries of Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR Itsekiri Students’ Bursary Scheme.

The office of the Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to NNPCL, in a statement made available to newsmen weekend, in Warri, disclosed that 746 candidates were short­listed at the close of the application window.

The statement disclosed that in a bid to meet the targeted 1,000 beneficia­ries, the application win­dow has been extended to enable more communities nominate eligible Itsekiri students.

The statement listed the eligibility criteria for each candidate as “must be an Itsekiri indigene”, “must be in 200 Level or above” and “must submit admis­sion letter /transcript, alongside any other sup­porting academic docu­ments.

The statement also ad­vised the communities to crosscheck the current shortlist to avoid resub­mitting names of students, who have already been selected.

The target-communi­ties, according to the state­ment are in Warri South, Warri North, Okpe, Uvwie, Udu, Ethiope East, and Sapele Local Government Areas of Delta State.

Benefitting communi­ties in Edo State are Ikpo­ba-Okha, Ajamogha, Ajoki, Ologbo and Kolokolo.
