NGO Embarks On Clean, Renewable Energy Awareness Campaign, Visits Oleh Monarch

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) known as Clean Renewable Energy and Safety Advocacy of Nigeria (CRESAN) has recently embarked on an awareness campaign to palaces in Delta state as they visit the Odiologbo of Oleh King­dom, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Anthony Williams Ovrawah, Omogha1

Speaking during the event, which was held at the palace in Oleh, Isoko south local government area of Delta state, the founder/executive director of the non- profitable organization headquartered in United Kingdom, Pastor Akpotoboro Andrew explicitly defined some of the core objectives of the organization.

According to him, the duly registered organiza­tion engages in the reduction of energy poverty and enhance environmental safety in Nigeria by driving policy reforms that support clean energy and safety, promote grassroots based renewal energy solutions and empower communities through education train­ing and sustainable development initiatives.

He noted further that, besides supporting inno­vative climate-smart programme that benefits the most vulnerable population, the organization also support and complement government initiatives in advancing renewable energy, technology and infrastructure.

“We advocate for better safety practices in Nige­ria and most especially, climate change adaptation and justices, water hygiene and sanitation, effective waste management as well as environmental sus­tainability through grassroots engagement, policy dialogue and community driven initiative”.

“So far so well, we have visited other communi­ties such as Ozoro in Isoko north local government area and Udu local government and we are here to identify with the traditional institution of Oleh community, to accord us the opportunity of creat­ing awareness and see in what areas, CRESAN can be of assistance”.

“We solicit the collaboration of this great king­dom and also wants to inform the entire kingdom that CRESAN has what is called the Royal Highness Advisory Council which is being governed by traditional rulers and we have come to give an open visitation to Odiologbo of Oleh to join the organization royal highness advisory council”.

While he thanked the monarch and his cabinet for entertaining them to a warm reception despite the short notice of their visit, he explained that, every member of the traditional advisory council is given an opportunity to join the organization in their international trips and also attend some of their critical stakeholders meetings.

Responding on behalf of the Odiologbo of Oleh Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Anthony Williams Ovrawah Omogha1, the President General, Unuafe Be­lieve commended the organization for their presenta­tion and their holistic approach towards maintaining an atmosphere of wellness.

He added that, the community would definitely provide the enabling environment for them to ad­dress identified challenges especially in areas of poor hygienic conditions resulting from lack of toilet and good water in some primary schools.
