NUJ Ika Chapel Mourns Pa Onyibe At 90

MEMBERS of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Ika Chapel, led by Comrade Arlington Okonma, has expressed condolences on the passing of the first practicing journalists in Ika land, Pa Joe Ony­ibe, the esteemed publisher of Ika Voice.

Late Pa Onyibe, who died at the age of 90 was rec­ognized for his significant contributions to journalism and Abavo community.

The death of the journalist marks a great loss to the media industry and the local community.

In their condolence message signed by the chapel Chairman, Comrade Darlington Okonma and the Secretary, Comrade Jonathan Onwubuoya, the union lauded Pa Onyibe’s dedication to fostering informed public discourse and his role as a pioneering voice for the Ika people.

The union acknowledged his unwavering commit­ment to truth, integrity, and development through the power of the press. describing his loss as deeply felt across journalistic circles and community platforms alike.

The union also commended the legacy Pa Onyibe has left behind, urging that his contributions continue to inspire journalists and publishers committed to regional and community journalism.

They conveyed sympathies to his family, colleagues, and the entire readership of Ika Voice, assuring them of their prayers and support during this difficult period.
