Uzere Emergency Conference Gets PG’s Briefing, Laudes Oborevwori

Uzere Community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta state has held an emergency conference to brief the people on the activities, programmes and challenges of the current executive since they assumed office in February.
The emergency Conference, which held at the Uzere Town Hall, was chaired by the President-General, Mr. Raphael Odorewu who briefed the Uzere people both at home and delegates from over 12 branches on crucial matters affecting the Community since their inauguration.

He highlighted the current state of affairs, key challenges and proposed solutions.
According to him, following the initial crisis of impeachment of the previous executive as a result of constitutional breaches, the Delta State Government stepped in, hence the need for the briefing on how the administration, which tenure expires in December 2025, has fared so far.

On the court cases, Odorewu assured the Uzere people that they will come out victorious by God’s grace, adding that the executive spent N12m to do a major work on the IPP and they were working to ensure that the community light was stable.

He also informed the people that there were some ongoing government projects in Uzere attracted mainly by High Chief Iduh Amadhe which includes, the Uzere Cottage Hospital road, Ekregbesi access road, Asaba- Ase bridge, the ring road as well as the abandoned Uzere – Umeh-Patani road which will soon kick-off by the NDDC.

On employment , Odorewu stated that a few slots were secure for indigenes in the ongoing projects, just as he stated that the Uzere Town Hall has been renovated within the few months they took over office while they also fixed the old Sienna bus for the youths.

Odorewu disclosed that his administration recently intervened in fixing the failed portion of the police station roof.

Another highlight of the emergency Conference was the final review and amendment of the Uzere Constitution by the constitution committee which was unanimously endorsed by the whole house, with the Urete Central EXCO tenure as three years while the statutory Conferences will now hold in September and December.

The PG then used the opportunity to sensitize his people on the upcoming flood to get prepared and move to higher ground for safety.

He also commended everyone, including the security agencies, clergymen and others which he encouraged not to relent in their supports for the betterment of the Community.

High Chief Iduh Amadhe, in his usual magnanimity, made donation of N500,000, which was supported by others to immediately fix a dangerous portion of an abandoned road in the Community.

Chief Iduh further advised the Uzere people to be transparent, truthful, steadfast and join hands to move the Community forward.

The Uzere President-General in his closing remarks thanked the Delta state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for approving projects for Uzere Community and his commitment to ensure that peace reigned in the Community. He also thanked the Isoko South LGA Chairman, Hon. Friday Warri and Isoko traditional rulers for encouraging the peace process in the Community . He then appealed to everyone to embrace peace and unity to move Uzere forward. The emergency Conference was attended by all the Executive, Chiefs,sub Community representatives, several former Presidents of the Community, the Uzere Branches Forum and the Council of Elders(Edio) among others.
