Ndokwa East Youths Hail Oborevwori’s Road Projects, Urge More Devt

BY CHINEDU AMEDE

THE leadership of the Ndokwa East Communities Youths Council (NECYC) has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his development strides, particularly his recent approval for the construction of the 10.8-kilometre Aboh–Akarai road, which includes a 100-metre bridge.

The youths in their commendation message recalled that Governor Oborevwori had earlier approved and awarded the contract for the construction of a bridge linking the Ase and Asaba-Ase communities within the local government area.

They noted that the road projects, upon completion, would significantly enhance the socio-cultural, political, and economic life of the people. They further affirmed that the roads would ease the transportation of farm produce to urban markets, especially for agrarian communities and fishing settlements in the area.

Describing the projects as dividends of democracy delivered through the MORE agenda, the youths noted their potential to alleviate the impact of economic hardship, inflation and the rising cost of living.

According to the President General of NECYC, Comrade Bright Enueshike, the governor has remained consistent in fulfilling his electoral promises, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, education and human capital development, including the prompt payment of workers’ salaries.

He expressed appreciation to all Ndokwa East leaders and stakeholders, such as Chief Godswill Obielum, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Hon. Kingsley Ashibuogwu, Hon. Emeke Osamuta and others, for their efforts in attracting government attention and various development projects to the area.

Enueshike, however, appealed to the state government to consider the construction of more link roads, renovation of primary and secondary schools, increased political appointments and the employment of youths within the local government area.
