Wolves Secure Reasonable Victory To Keep Promotion Hope Alive In Super 8

BY CHRISTIAN EZE

WARRI Wolves FC made reasonable effort to keep Deltans hopeful of the most needed promotion to Nigeria’s Premier League with a 3 – 0 dominance of the Day 2 encounter against Kun Khalifat in the ongoing Super 8 tournament holding in Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba the major host of the 2024/25 Season of Nigeria National League (NNL)

Warri Wolves lost their first match of the gam0 – 1 to e, losing Osun United on Saturday. The started the match with the right footing as the dominated from the onset and appear more purposeful with mush better coordination than their opening encounter.

It was the spirit of a wounded giant that kept them awake in the first half and were alive to the desire and demand of necessity which saw a tact of glory in Jude Ebhohon who scored twice in the half to give Wolves the needed grip and lead of the score line. But what some would describe as over confidence came in but this was not obvious as Yarhere Efe made it 3-0 in the 66th minute, but got a red card for an offence adjudged very unacceptable which left the team with less number, thus, making his team to finish with ten men.

But this did not create much deficiency as the players were very conscious of any drop in form and goals.

They are now level with Kun Khalifat on points and a much better performance is needed in their next match to enlist Delta as a major team in football in the Nigeria top soccer league.
