Please Sir, can you tell us your name?
My name is Dr. Jude Okocha, by the grace of God, I am presently the Registrar of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
How is the work of a registrar of a great institution like this?
Well, the work is challenging, but with God all things are possible. From beginning, I promised to put in my best and help in supporting the Provost to move the institution forward, and that is what we are doing.
The registrar is like a secretary in an organisation, much is expected from you, and I thank the government for my appointment.
How will describe the Provost?
The Provost is a good administrator; he is square peg in square hole. Since his appointment, he had made giant progress in the institution; ranging from infrastructure to physical discipline among students and staff. In fact he created a conducive environment for learning to take place. I can say Governor Sheriff Oborevwori made the right choice.
Okay, let’s get to talk about Governor Oborevwori in terms of education, do you think the governor is doing well for your polytechnic?
The answer is capital yes, you can see a lot of development projects taking place in the school, all are courtesy of the governor, and he had done a lot and still doing. He has transformed the institution and the entire education sector in the state. Kudos, our dear governor for making us proud.
He pays our salaries regularly, provide the necessary enablement for the polytechnic to grow, so, I can say workers are happy, the students are happy and the community is equally grateful.
Oborevwori’s interest in Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku could not be over emphasized, because he has great love for education.
What do have to say about Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as governor of Delta State?
The Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, is a visionary leader who is doing a lot in the development of the state with genuine passion and love for all ethnic groups across the state.
He can be described as a right peg in a right hole; his likes are hard to come by.
You can see the massive works he is doing in all parts of the state, I can say as governor of our dear state at this point in time is divine from God.
Therefore, the choice of Governor Oborevwori as the Governor of Delta State is the best gift from God Almighty to Deltans and Nigeria in general.
Deltans and students are happy with him, because in just two years in office, Oborevwori has performed beyond the expectations of all, as Deltans are enjoying real dividends of democracy through the MORE Agenda of his administration.
The Governor’s achievements ranges from infrastructural development, roads, health, education, youth employment, regular payment of workers salary and promotions, he has the interest of the people at heart.
You can see that most of the abandoned projects before he came are now in good shape while new ones are springing up, and I am much happy because Ogwashi Uku, where I am working is receiving much interest from the governor.
For example; the completion of Ogbe-Ubu River Bridge that was abandoned for many years was a pointer that Oborevwori has great love for Ogwashi-Uku people.
What do have to say on the governor and others defection from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC)?
Though, I am not a politician, but I can see the hands of God in it, therefore, it is a divine direction and intervention in the affairs of the state.
I can see more development through the MORE Agenda in partnership with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
Your message to Deltans generally
Yes, Deltans must sustain their prayers to enable the governor provide more democratic dividends for us, we must give him the right support at all times, in our communities, we must do our best to drive development in line with the MORE Agenda of the government.
