A 30-year-old man, identified as Ugonna Umunna, residing at Cable Point, Asaba, is presently facing a two-count charge at Asaba Chief Magistrate court brought against him by the Police for allegedly defrauding one Mr. Kelechi Ogboji the sum of N150, 000.
In charge sheet No.CMA/266c/2025, Ugonna Ogboji, was alleged to have on the 26th day of May, 2022, with the intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N150,000, from Kelechi Ogboji, in contravention of Section 419 of the criminal code Cap.C21 Vol.1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
Count one of the charge stated thus: “That you Ugonna Umunna “M” Age 30 Years on the 26 day of May 2022, at Cable Point, Asaba, within the Asaba Magisterial District did with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N150,000 (one hundred and fifty thousand naira) only, from one Kelechi Ogboji”M” and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 419 of the criminal code cap. C21 Vol. 1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
On count two, the accused was alleged to have on the same date and time, in the aforementioned District district stole the cash some of N150,000, property of Kelechi Ogboji, which is an offense contrary to section 390(9) of the criminal code cap.C21 Vol. 1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The count two stated as follows, “ That you Ugonna Umunna” M” Age 30 Years on the same date and time in the aforementioned District did steal cash of N150,000 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira) only, property of one Kelechi Ogboji” M “ and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code cap C21 Vol.1 Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
