89 Regular Recruits Intake: Army Commence Screening Of 694 Shortlisted Candidates In Asaba

THE Nigerian Army has commenced the screening of 694 shortlisted candidates of Delta State origin in the ongoing nationwide 89th Regular Recruits Intake at the Cenotaph Complex Asaba, beging from 7am daily.

The Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Oghenesivbe, in a statement urged candidates who are yet to report for the screening exercise to do so, on or before today

According to the Bureau Chief, 325 out of the 694 shortlisted candidates arrived at Cenotaph Complex Asaba for the exercise, saying that the remaining 369 shortlisted candidates are strongly advised to report for screening without further delay.

Dr Oghenesivbe said the state Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori made adequate provisions for shortlisted candidates transportation, welfare and other necessary assistance throughout the duration of the exercise.

He noted that five buses were deployed to advertised locations across the three Senatorial Districts on Monday, but only 85 candidates showed up for free ride to Asaba, while 240 candidates arrived on their individual arrangements; making a total of 325 candidates on ground for the screening exercise.

In the light of the above, the state government through the Awareness Committee on Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary Services hereby appeal to the remaining 369 candidates who are yet to report for the Nigerian Army 89th Regular Recruits Intake Screening Exercise to do so, as their period of grace will elapse on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the statement added.
