THE Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor has expressed joy over the ground-breaking ceremony of the reconstruction work on Warri-Sapele-Benin dual carriageway by the State Government. The Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Nkem Nwaeke, commended the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for prioritizing the project, which he described as a critical infrastructure that would boost economic activities and improve the lives, security, safety and productivity of Deltans and residents in the state.
The Speaker in the statement said that the deplorable state of the road was a nightmare for motorists to navigate, just as he commended the Governor’s efforts in not only embarking on the reconstruction of the road but also, fostering collaboration with the federal government to drive more development in the state.
He highlighted the significance of other ongoing projects in the localities, including the construction of flyovers in Effurun and Warri, saying that the development demonstrated Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to transforming Delta’s infrastructure landscape.
The Speaker charged the contractor handling the reconstruction work and other projects across the three senatorial districts of the state to deliver high-quality work, adhere to international standards, and complete the projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Rt. Hon. Guwor, who is the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, stressed that every project embarked upon by the state government will further add value and enhance the state’s economic prospects and improve the quality of life for residents in the state.
Guwor assured the Governor and the people of Delta State that the Assembly under his leadership will continue to provide support and oversight to ensure the successful completion of all ongoing projects across the state.
The speaker reaffirmed the commitment of the legislature to working with the executive arm to drive more development and progress in the state, even as he enjoined Deltans to avoid the antics of distractors but give full support to the “Renewed Hope for MORE” agenda of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
