AFTER a rampaging 5 – 0 massacre over Chipolopolo (The Copper Queens) of Zambia, Nigeria’s women national team, Super Falcons have vowed to demolish their South African counterparts, Bayana Bayana as both sides face off in the semi-final at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Nigeria defeated Zambia in the quarter final to zoom into the semi’s while South Africa overcame Senegal 4-1 via penalties after both regulation and extra time ended 0-0 to progress.
Chief coach of the Nigerian side, Justine Madugu who is still waxing lyrical from their last win said his girls are ready.
“We’re ready to take on any foe. The South Africans are a familiar foe who cannot stand in our way.
“Our mission here is simple: win every game and emerge champions.
“To be the best you have to beat the best”, he told The Pointer newspaper from Morocco.
The Super Falcons are yet to concede a goal in the tournament.
Defending champions South Africa are also one step closer to retaining their TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations crown if they can cross the Nigeria hurdle which will mean punctuating the Falcons mission X aspiration.
