Stanley Ultra Modern Farms Unveils Ambitious Integrated Agro Project

By Sunday Egede

The Group Managing Director of Stanley Ultra Modern Farms, Dr. Tomdiyo Malosan has unveiled plans for a large-scale, integrated agricultural project designed to boost food production, create jobs and supply healthy farm products to Nigerians.

Speaking during a media interaction at the project site in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state, Dr. Malosan described the facility as an ultra modern farm that will be compartmentalised into specialised sections to ensure efficiency and sustainability.

According to him, the farm will house a fishery and poultry section, a small ruminant unit for sheep and goats, as well as a cattle section dedicated primarily to dairy production, adding that a clinic will also be established within the premises to cater for veterinary and related needs.

“For a start, we will stock about 5,000 layers for egg production and run broiler production side by side. We are also planning to stock between 500 and 600 dairy cows. From these cows, we will be getting milk daily, which will be processed into yoghurt and other dairy products,” he said.

The Group Managing Director of the farm explained that the cattle section will not only focus on dairy but will also produce beef, making it a dual-purpose unit, saying “in addition, a piggery section will be set up to produce pork for consumption.

To support operations and ensure quality control, Dr. Malosan said, the farm will operate a feed mill where all animal feeds will be produced internally in alignment with the farm’s zero-grazing policy.

“There will be no open grazing. Everything will be managed within the farm in a controlled and sustainable manner,” he said, adding that as part of its integrated structure, the project will also feature a mini abattoir and a cold storage facility to preserve meat products.

While assuring that all meat processed at the farm would meet the highest health and safety standards, he said “every product that comes out of this farm will be 100 per cent guaranteed and healthy. They will be certified by qualified veterinarians and other regulatory authorities we will be engaging.”

Dr. Malosan who was joined by the farm’s Consultant in charge of cow and sheep, Ali Awa, further hinted that within the next one to two years, the farm aims to scale up dairy production and expand its processing capacity to meet growing demand.

Also speaking, the owner of the farm, Chief Stanley Obodoagwu said state-of-the-art farm project designed to meet international standards would soon begin to yield tangible results, revealing that significant progress has already been recorded.

Beyond its physical infrastructure, Chief Obodoagwu said, the project is expected to have a far-reaching economic impact through job creation, pointing out that the farm would employ a wide range of professionals and support workers across different departments.

According to him, the farm would not only focus on animal production but would also diversify into crop processing to further expand its economic value chain, saying “by next year, the farm plans to roll out locally produced garri and plantain flour to the market, boosting food security and reducing reliance on imported products.

“The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to promote agricultural development, enhance food sufficiency and create employment opportunities, particularly for young people and skilled professionals in the agricultural sector.”

With its focus on sustainability, quality assurance and integrated production, Stanley Ultra Modern Farms is positioning itself as a major player in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
