A political pressure group within the All-Progressive Congress (APC) in Ughelli South local Government Area, otherwise known as Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC) has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for second term.
The group, led by the chairman, who is also the Secretary to the Ughelli South Local Government, Chief John Ewenede, and the Publicity Secretary, Matthew Kwode made the declaration during their visit to the Executives of the All-Progressive Congress (APC) in Ughelli South Local Government Area at Oginibo in Ughievwe kingdom, recently.
Chief Ewenede, who spoke at the event, said the visit was to formally inform the party executives of the APC in Ughelli South of the group’s existence and as well state their mission.
According to Chief Ewenede, the Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC), “is a disciplined political pressure group within the All-Progressives Congress (APC), committed to advancing the party’s progressive ideals in Ughelli South Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State. The group seeks to strengthen party cohesion, empower the grassroots, and promote issue-based political engagement across the local government area.
He added that the group was saddled with a credible vision,” To become the leading grassroots political force within the APC in Delta State—renowned for principled leadership, inclusive governance, grassroots mobilization, and the promotion of sustainable development in Ughelli South local government area and beyond.”
Chief Ewenede said membership was open to all registered APC members in Ughelli South, who align with the vision of the group and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State as the preferred candidates of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Responding on behalf of the APC executives in Ughelli south, Olorogun Isaiah Kekeje, expressed delight over the visit, stating that with the caliber of members in the USPC, it stands out as a significant political pressure group in the area.
