The member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Dr. Charles Olisa, has reaffirmed the Commission’s unwavering commitment to impactful and sustainable development initiatives across Ndokwa Nation.
Dr. Olisa stated this yesterday, when he led an inspection tour of two key DESOPADEC projects: the ongoing resurfacing of the Umuosumili Ossissa Road to Umueze Ossissa Road, and the construction of a new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lodge at Akarai Obodo.
During the road project inspection, Dr. Olisa expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work being executed in strict compliance with the Bills of Engineering Measurements and Evaluation (BEME).
He assured the people of the Ossissa clan that the project would be completed on schedule and constructed to sustainable standards.
“This project reflects DESOPADEC’s firm alignment with the Delta State Government’s More Agenda and the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Dr. Olisa stated.
“Our goal is to roll out meaningful and sustainable projects across all mandate areas of Ndokwa Nation that will improve the lives of our people.”
Speaking after the inspection, Elder Emmanuel Onyeukwu and His Royal Highness, Michael Chukwunweike Olisa, the Okpalaukwu of Umuosumili Ossissa, commended the intervention.
They described the project as timely and beneficial to the economic and social development of the area.
Also, the Youth President of Umuosumili Ossissa, Comrade Sunday Nwacheli, also expressed his appreciation to the DESOPADEC Board led by Chairman Olorogun Barr. John Nani and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Chief Festus Ochonogor, for their ongoing commitment to the development of the oil-bearing communities.
In the same vein, Dr. Olisa inspected the NYSC Lodge under construction at Akarai Obodo. He praised the contractor’s diligence and described the lodge as a strategic investment in youth development and public infrastructure.
“This lodge is a testament to our vision of building capacity and creating conducive environments for national service members in rural communities,” he said.
Dr. Olisa reiterated that DESOPADEC, under the leadership of its Board and Management, will continue to implement people-oriented projects that support infrastructure development, promote youth empowerment, and uplift the standard of living in oil-producing communities.
