A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji has applauded the achievements of the democratic-elected governors of the state since its creation in 1991 and expressed confidence that more development are coming to the state.
Speaking with reporters on the celebration of Delta at 34 anniversary, Ogbueshi Okonji in particular recognized the enviable performance of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and incumbent Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, saying that the duo have placed Delta above its contemporaries in terms of development.
Acknowledging that the state had made steady progress within the period, he pointed out that with Governor Oborevwori in the saddle, the state was in safe hand and has prospects of achieving greater development in the next few years.
Ogbueshi Okonji, former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South local government area and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (SSA), enjoined Deltans to remain steadfast in their support for the governor, the MORE Agenda, and the APC, especially as the 2027 elections are drawing closer.
In the same vein, he urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government, contending that Delta State was enjoying the APC administration since the past few months.
Ogbeushi Okonji also praised the traditional ruler of Asaba, Asagba Prof Epiphany Azinge for the fight against drug peddlers and cultism in order to make the state capital peaceful for residents and investors.
He pointed out that crime can make the environment unfriendly and scare visitors and “that is why the Asagba deserved to be praised”.
