…Orders Immediate Rehabilitation Of Failed Ubeji/Egbokodo/Refinery Road
By Sunday Egede
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has called on investors, particularly Deltans both at home and in the diaspora to invest in the state by leveraging on the favourable business opportunities created by his administration.
Governor Oborevwori, who made the call, yesterday, while commissioning a multi-million naira hospitality and tourism investment – Swiss International Rancho Valerie in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area of the state, said the time to invest in the state is now, adding that the socio-economic climate of the state was steadily progressing.
According to him, Warri is rising again and Delta State is progressing steadily, adding that the shadows of yesterday had given way to the bright possibilities of today and the greater promises of tomorrow.
The governor, who described the hotel as a bold testament to the rising economic profile of Warri, also directed the immediate rehabilitation of the failed portions of the Ubeji/Egbokodo/Refinery Road, following what he observed while approaching the hotel premises.
Oborevwori said the new hospitality facility reflected the renewed investor confidence in Delta State, pointing out that Warri was once again reclaiming its place as a commercial nerve centre and tourism hub.
He noted that the hotel’s establishment would not only provide premium accommodation but also stimulate local enterprise, create jobs, enhance community peace, and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of the state.
“This occasion is far more than the unveiling of a remarkable hospitality facility. It is a celebration of vision, resilience, and the boundless opportunities that Delta State offers to investors and entrepreneurs. It is proof that when determination meets opportunity, great things are achieved.
“Hospitality is a powerful force. It is a bridge between cultures, a driver of tourism, and a catalyst for sustainable economic growth. The establishment of Swiss International Rancho Valeria in this city further elevates Ubeji’s profile as a thriving center for commerce and leisure.
“This hotel will not only offer premium accommodation, it will, also create jobs for our people, empower local enterprises, stimulate community-based development, and contribute to the collective prosperity and well-being of our society.
“This development aligns perfectly with the thrust of my administration under the MORE Agenda. As a government, we remain committed to building a State where infrastructure, security, and human capital development come together to create meaningful opportunities. The hospitality sector is a vital pillar of this vision.
“Today’s commissioning sends a clear message to Nigeria and to the world that Delta State is open for business. It affirms that our State is safe, investment-friendly, and fully capable of hosting world-class hospitality and tourism ventures.
While commending the proprietor of the hotel, Mr. Mode Akoma, for his decision to invest in the state, Governor Oborevwori described the hotel project as an inspiring story of vision, resilience and determination. “Your decision to invest in your home community rather than elsewhere demonstrates deep commitment to Delta’s development. If you had invited me to commission a hotel you built outside Delta State, I would not have attended.
“But I am proud that you chose to develop your community. This project will obviously bring jobs, peace and progress,” he added, even as he assured the management of the new hotel and other private investors in the state of continued government support.
Earlier in his welcome address, the General Manager of the hotel, Mr. Opeyemi Todowede said the hotel will provide exceptional hospitality services that would meet international standards.
Mr. Todowede disclosed that the management of the hotel was committed to playing its part in moving Delta State forward by helping to unlock the rich tourism potential potential of the state.
“Every guest who visits us deserves more than just a stay; they deserve an unforgettable experience—one that reflects our culture, our hospitality, and our warmth as a people,” the General Manager added.
