DELTA State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the recall of the suspended member representing the Ndokwa Ethnic Nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commi s s ion (DESOPADEC), Dr. Charles Olise.
The recall was conveyed in a statement, yesterday, signed by the Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Dr Kingsley Emu, which noted that the governor’s decision was taken in the spirit of the New Year and in demonstration of his magnanimity to forgive. The statement added that Dr. Olise showed remorse during the period of his suspension, prompting the lifting of the disciplinary action. With the suspension now lifted, Dr Olise has been directed to resume his duties immediately.
Recall that Dr. Olise was initially suspended in October 2025 following reports of alleged misconduct at work. Governor Oborevwori had expressed serious concern over actions attributed to the DESOPADEC member, which were described as capable of polluting the ethical and professional standards guiding the affairs of the commission.
Dr Olise was then directed to proceed on a three-month suspension without the regular entitlements attached to his office and instructed him to hand over all DESOPADEC properties in his possession to the Managing Director for the duration of the suspension.
