Oborevwori Commissions Legacy Projects In Aniocha South LG

BY SAM DUVWODE

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has described projects being commissioned in various local government areas as life-changing interventions across several critical sectors.

Governor Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme disclosed this, yesterday, during the commissioning of 19 transformative projects across Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The governor hailed the commissioning of the 19 key projects, saying they will boost economic growth, security, health, education, agriculture and rural development.

“What we see in Aniocha South under the leadership of Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike is a testament to what happens when local administration aligns perfectly with the vision of the state government.”

“To execute 19 significant projects between July 2024 and today is no small feat. It speaks volumes of a leadership that is prudent with resources, focused on the people and driven by the fear of God. Pastor Jude, your performance has vindicated our trust in local government autonomy and effectiveness.”

Governor Oborevwori who noted that the commissioned projects span key sectors, including economic growth, security, health, education, agriculture, and rural development, said; “The construction and renovation of hundreds of stalls at Afor Market (Ogwashi-Uku), Nkwor Market (Nsukwa), Olie Market (Ubulu-Okiti), and Isheagu Market will directly boost the local economy.”

“By providing traders with modern facilities and paving the Central Motor Park in Ogwashi-Uku, we are making commerce easier and more dignified for our people.” “Security is the bedrock of development. The upgrading of the Ubulu-Uku Police post to a full-fledged Divisional Headquarters, the donation of vehicles, and the provision of 33 motorcycles to our local vigilantes will ensure that our mothers can go to the farm and our traders can travel without fear.”

“A healthy and educated populace is our greatest asset. The renovation and equipping of the Ubulu-Uku General Hospital, alongside the medical outreach across all 11 wards, ensures that no one is left behind.   Similarly, the new classrooms in Ishe Primary School (Ewulu) and Etiti-Amaka Primary School (Ubulu-Uno) provide a conducive environment for our children to thrive.”

“I am particularly impressed by the empowerment of 100 verified farmers with implements and N100,000 each. In these times, food security is national security. This, combined with the water reticulation in Ubulu-Uno and the over 200 solar streetlights in Ubulu-Uku, shows a chairman who understands the diverse needs of his people.”

The Governor urged residents to protect the projects from vandalism, support security agencies, and maintain peace, stating;

“These projects belong to you. It is only in an atmosphere of peace that we can achieve even more”.

Earlier, , the Chairman Aniocha South Local Government Area, Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, said that  the projects being commissioned aligned with the pillars of the MORE Agenda which anchored on driving meaningful development, enhancing peace and security for all and creating job opportunities for all.

“The vision has continued to foster prosperity and expand the frontiers of democratic dividends across the communities,” he said.

Chukwunwike highlighted the projects to include; forty lock-up stalls at Afor Market, Ogwashi-Uku, Police Tactical Unit Building and up grading of Police Post at Ubulu-Uku, 171 open stalls at Nkwo Market, Nsukwa and a three bedroom Matron’s quarters at Adonte among others.

While noting that no meaningful development can take place in the absence of vibrant and flourishing markets, which remain a critical driver of economic growth, he said,  local government boss said  his administration had deliberately invested in healthcare infrastructure, thereby establishing a strong footprint in the health sector.
