BY ANDREW IKEHI

THE speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor has called for greater commitment by relevant stakeholders in advancing the Nigerian project.

Rt. Hon. Guwor made the call at the weekend in Markudi, Benue State during the 2nd Anniversary Thanksgiving Service of the 10th Assembly of the Benue State House of Assembly, held at St. Mark’s Parish, Apir, Makurdi.

Rt. Hon. Guwor, who was a special guest at the benediction service, said critical stakeholders, including State Houses of Assembly must stand together for national unity and development, expressing happiness that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.

He congratulated his colleague in the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, Principal Officers and members of the House for the successful session of the 10th Assembly and their decision to appreciate God with a special thanksgiving service.

Describing his presence in the service as an honor to celebrate with the lawmakers on the achieved milestone, Rt. Hon. Guwor commended the Benue Legislators for their dedication to effective representation, oversight and legislation.

The Delta Speaker, who was adorned in Tiv traditional attire in commemoration of the visit, wished the Benue State Assembly continued success and impact in the next legislative session of the House.

A statement made available to newsmen by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Nkem Nwaeke, revealed that the occasion afforded the Speaker an opportunity to console with the government and people of Benue State over the recent killings in part of the state.

Rt. Hon. Guwor condemned any form of violence and called for a stop to such sad incidents, even as he prayed to God to comfort families of those that lost their lives and to restore permanent peace, law and order to Benue state.

He also prayed to God to grant the soul of those that died eternal rest.
