LG Chairman Calls For Arrest Of Fake Revenue Collectors

The Chairman, of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Olorogun Jaro  Egbo, has called for the arrest of any suspected individuals extorting Point of Sale, PoS operator in the local government area.

Olorogun Egbo made the remarks in reaction to an allegations and outcry by Felix Oghenekevwe that a group of persons are extorting N6,000 from POS operators as yearly levy using the using the name of the local government Chairman.as gateway.

According to Oghenekevwe, “There is a man going about Ughelli town with his team collecting 6,000 as yearly levy from POS operators. “He was sited at Ughelli market yesterday and today, upon enquiry, he said Ughelli North Local Government Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, gave him the mandate to do the job with a certain (undisclosed) target to meet.”

Reacting to the allegations, Olorogun Jaro Egbo said, “Arrest the criminal when you see him and take him to the nearest police station and inform my office.’’

Commending the Chairman, a POS operator in Ughelli who spoke on anonymously  said, “Olorogun Jaro Egbo has given us relief over this business.

‘’Some of us ventured into  the POS business because after school, nothing to do and to avoid going into dirty business, I have to respect myself.

“These people extorting us would come in batches in the name of the Chairman and if you dare talk, they would carry your umbrella. “But now that Olorogun Jaro Egbo has spoken on fake revenue collectors, anyone without proper and genuine identity would be arrested as directed.”
