The Delta State Government has brought to the notice of property developers around the Kwale Free Trade Zone, that it would deal decisively with anyone encroaching on the land earmarked for the project.
It said the notice became necessary in order to protect the vision of the project, which has received overwhelming response from investors.
According to a statement signed by Secretary to State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, the State Taskforce on Recovery of Government Lands has been mandated to protect the land boundaries and remove all illegal structures forthwith irrespective of their stages of completion.
The move, he said is besides various actions the state government might take against encroachment on the land within the ambit of the law.
The statement further advised persons who had encroached on other government lands to vacate them immediately as the state government would not tolerate any illegalities that threaten the common good of Deltans.
