ISOKO South Local Government has played host to market women at the Guy Otobo Hall, where the Chairman, Hon. Ovoke Warri empowered 55 market women across the 11 wards with the sum of N200,000 each.
This initiative, which was part of events marking the chairman’s one-year in office, was aimed at boosting the economic endeavours of the women and enhance their businesses.
Hon. Warri urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously, emphasizing that proper utilization would attract more support from him in the future. He warned against using the money for frivolous purposes, stressing the importance of investing in their businesses to achieve growth and sustainability.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of N200,000 in cash to each of the 55 market women, who were picked from the 11 wards of the local government area.
The market women, who were overjoyed by the gesture, expressed their profound gratitude to the Chairman for his kindness and commitment to empowering them. They pledged to make the best use of the funds to enhance their businesses and improve their economic well-being.
