REALITY TV star, Maria Chike Benjamin has reacted to long running rumours about her personal life and marriage.
The reality star spoke in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, where she addressed claims that she was involved with a man who was already married when they began their relationship.
She said she did not know he was married at the time they started dating. Maria also stated that she has never set out to interfere in someone else’s marriage and does not have to disclose every detail of her private life to the public.
She also shared that she values honesty and does not want to dwell on unverified claims or public speculation about her personal affairs.
The mother of two said: “I wasn’t aware that he was married when we started dating. I don’t owe people my personal life. I am not a saint and I’m nobody’s role model because I’m for me.
‘’Whoever loves me can then decide to follow my steps. I am going to stand by this, and this is the gospel truth, I didn’t destroy any marriage. I have never and would never do that. I am also a woman and I know how it feels when a man is having an affair.”
The issue first gained attention several years ago when social media users and public figures suggested that Maria was romantically linked to a married man identified as Kelvin Anene.
A well known celebrity figure then accused her of “snatching” his sister’s husband and even threatened to harm the woman involved, sparking a major online debate at the time.
