The Urhobo Youth Council (UYC) has hailed the appointment of Prof. Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu as the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
The Council, in a statement described the appointment as well-deserved, citing Prof. Aliyu’s distinguished career in academia and his immense contributions to historical research and national development.
The UYC also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing a seasoned scholar, noting that the decision reflects a commitment to merit, competence, and excellence in leadership.
The group’s congratulatory message was delivered during the 45th birthday
celebration of the UYC leader, Chief Peter Aghogho, who also doubles as President of the Niger Delta Youths Frontier(NDYF).
The event was held at his oginibo town in OML 34 in Otu Jeremi, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Prof. Aliyu, a former Director of the Arewa House Centre for Historical Documentation and Research at Ahmadu Bello University, is a renowned academic and historian. He currently lectures in the Department of History at the university and is widely recognized for his extensive scholarly contributions.
The Council expressed confidence that Prof. Aliyu will bring his wealth of experience, integrity, and intellectual capacity to bear in his new role, further advancing the mandate of the PTDF and contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
