The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has cited the need to build a strong network of female legal professionals across all states.
She made this statement, when she received a delegation from the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria, led by its Country Vice President/National President, Mrs. Eliana Martins, on a courtesy visit to her office.
Welcoming the delegation, Mrs. Walson-Jack, a longstanding and active member of FIDA, commended the organization for its remarkable contributions to promoting justice, gender equality, and the protection of women’s and children’s rights. She described FIDA as a formidable force within the non-governmental sector and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving common goals.
The HCSF advised the association to build a strong network of female legal professionals across all states, encouraging increased participation at the grassroots level to drive the realization of FIDA’s mission and amplify its impact. This was contained in a statement signed by Eno Olotu, Director, Information and Public Relations.
In the course of the visit, Mrs. Walson-Jack also congratulated Mrs. Ezinwa Okaroafor, a member of the delegation, on her appointment as the International President of FIDA. She praised the appointment as well-deserved, citing Mrs. Okaroafor’s exemplary dedication, hard work, and longstanding service to FIDA Nigeria.
In her remarks, Mrs. Eliana Martins pledged the association’s collaboration in assisting the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in delivering on its mandate. She described Mrs. Walson-Jack as a “worthy and great Amazon who stands tall for women,” lauding her visionary leadership in the formulation and effective implementation of key government policies as an inspiration to women across the nation.
The event was attended by Permanent Secretaries in the Office of Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs Beatrice Jeddy-Agba, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Civil Service Matters, Mr Alfred Abah.
The visit underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between government institutions and civil society organizations in advancing gender equity and national development.
